Maila (Dayahang Rai), is a talented bamboo basket weaver in the film Gaun Aayeko Bato. Along with his son Bindre (Prasan Rai) and wife Maili (Pashupati Rai), he resides in a tiny rural community in Nepal. Maila is a self-employed individual who puts in a lot of effort to provide for his family. His eight-year-old boy attends a village school, while his wife stays home and takes care of everyday duties.
The small family is content with what they have and has a happy, healthy bond. However, when an access roadway to their neighborhood opens, what initially seems like a benefit gradually becomes a string of unanticipated difficulties as new and improved amenities and technologies arrive. Her spouse may appear violent at times, but she does her best to keep him calm since she understands how anger causes suffering. When her family is feeling down, she is the biggest cheerleader.
Pashupati Rai delivered one of the greatest performances of her acting career. After watching her act, viewers understand how a mother can be a great leader in the house. Josh Herum’s cinematography for the film is also noteworthy. The visuals he catches in the movie are serene and pleasing to the audience’s eyes, particularly the broad vistas. Kwan Pun Leung’s editing talents complement these scenarios, making the storyline more strong and engaging. Through his superb cuts, he allows the audience to be patient while still pushing them to stay on the edge of their seats.
