Halkara is a true gem of a film that shines brightly throughout. The leading actors, Mahesh Tripathi and Binita Thapa Magar are by far the greatest in the picture.
Halkara Movie Story:
Ram (Mahesh Tripathi) is caught in the past, driven by grief over his life’s events. He is unable to continue, so he stays at home alone and drinks local beer in a nearby inn. His relatives and close friends advise him to forget the past and move forward, but he views his old memories as jewels that he does not want to lose.
Ram is now an empty guy, with no one to look after, no money, and no means of support. Despite his desire to move abroad for better opportunities, he has spent all of his money on alcohol. His credit has been canceled, and he has no knowledge of his profits.
The postmaster (Deepak Chhetri) requests Ram to fill the position of a prior employee who has departed to pursue better chances in another country. Ram is forced to take one since he needs money to survive. He gathers the letters and goes inside Hamlet to deliver them. However, he becomes exhausted on the journey. He couldn’t even keep his balance. On the way, he gets lost and is robbed by a band of local teenagers. Despite his best efforts, his drunken enthusiasm was inadequate to save the worst from happening. This period of his life is filled with turbulence and challenging decisions.
Halkara Movie Cast & Performance:
Mahesh Tripathi (Ram) appears to be one of the film’s most crucial characters. The film’s creators have skillfully coordinated the character development, and Mahesh has lived up to the film’s established role. As a result of his previous traumas and grief, Ram’s temperament is hard and guarded. And the audience is transfixed by what is going to occur as a result of his performance. Throughout the film, till the conclusion, the audience wonders why this character is so tense and agitated. Well, Mahesh Tripathi was fantastic as Postman in the film, and we thoroughly liked his presence on the screen. Wonderful!
Binita Thapa Magar (Mia) gives an outstanding performance. Because her feelings and tale are so heartbreaking, her performance makes you shudder. Mia is seen as a housewife and tutor whose husband is missing and uncontactable; despite unusual thoughts, she believes her husband will return. Binita’s performance in the film will make you cry since her tale is so compelling, and the dialogue is excellent. We could easily identify with her character since she embodies optimism, courage, and perseverance. We’d like to see more of her films with greater character arcs and performances after seeing Halkara. Excellent job! It was amazing.
Direction & Story Telling:
The film’s writer/director, Bikram Sapkota, has committed his heart and soul to providing Nepalese filmgoers with such magnificent cinema. The filmmaker has produced an honest narrative with stunning visuals and cinematography. Chintan Rajbhandari’s camera work is outstanding throughout the film. Each storyline and sequence’s color tones are relaxing to the eyes. One of the film’s most significant features is the background soundtrack by Bruno Valenti. As an editor, Bikram Sapkota spares a few measures for growth at the start of the film, but we quickly forget about them as the story progresses. Together with Sapkota, Viplob Pratik and Akash Baral worked hard to develop better characters and scripts that bring the narrative to life.
Movie Verdict:
In the Nepalese film industry, Halkara is a one-of-a-kind film. Every part of the film appears to be lovely and flawless. As viewers, we like the performances of the characters and hope that the film is screened again. Halkara is a must-see film that we must promote as viewers in order to urge filmmakers to produce more of them. It is very advised to see the Halkara picture in a theater. Fantastic film!
